বাংলাদেশের গ্রাম ও মফস্বলগুলিতে এখন টার্গেট শিক্ষকতা পেশায় নিয়োজিত হিন্দুরা। এখনো ৯০ ভাগ মুসলিম অধ্যুষিত বাংলাদেশে স্কুল ও কলেজগুলিতে হিন্দু শিক্ষকরা প্রধান পদে বসে আছে। এটি বাস্তবতা কিন্তু ভীষণ রকমের ঈর্ষার কারণ। বাস্তবতা কারণ এখনো শিক্ষায় হিন্দুরা এগিয়ে। ৯০ ভাগ মুসলিম সম্প্রদায়ের নারীদের বেশিরভাগই গৃহবধূ ও স্বল্প শিক্ষিত। কিন্তু মাত্র সাত পার্সেন্ট হিন্দু নারীদের স্কুল শিক্ষক হওয়ার হার অনেক বেশি। পাকিস্তান হবার পর দেখা গেলো (হিন্দুদের সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠ দেশ ছেড়ে চলে যাবার পরও) স্কুলের ৮০ ভাগ শিক্ষার্থী হিন্দু। শিক্ষকদের ৮০ ভাগও হিন্দু। ৬৪-৬৫ সালে ‘হিন্দু ম্যাসাকারের’ পর বাকী এই শিক্ষিত হিন্দু শ্রেণীরা দেশত্যাগের ফলে দেখা গেলো শ্রেণী কক্ষ প্রায় শূন্য! শিক্ষকদের ৮০ ভাগ অনুপস্থিত!

তারপর পাকিস্তান ভেঙ্গে বাংলাদেশের ৫০ বছর পরও এদেশের মুসলমানরা পিছিয়েই রইল! তাই টার্গেট শিক্ষিত হিন্দু। এমনকি আওয়ামী লীগের হিন্দু নেতাকর্মী ও ঘোর সমর্থকদেরও টার্গেট করা হচ্ছে। পুরো বাংলাদেশে একের পর এক স্কুল কলেজের শিক্ষকরা নবী অবমাননার অভিযোগে গ্রেফতার হচ্ছেন। ‘উত্তেজিত তৌহদী জনতার’ রোষ নিয়ন্ত্রণে পুলিশ অভিযুক্তকে গ্রেফতার করে নিয়ে যায়। তারপর ডিজিটাইল আইনে মামলা হয়। তদন্তে দেখা যায় ভিকটিম ৯৯% ক্ষেত্রে ফেইক আইডির শিকার হয়েছে। তদন্তে এরকম রিপোর্ট আসার পরও আসামীর খাতায় ভুক্তভোগী নাম মুছা যায় না। রসরাজ বা টিটু রায় তদন্তের ফেইক আইডির শিকার প্রমাণিত হবার পরও এখনো মামলার জোয়াল টানছে। এই দেশ যে শুধুই মুসলমান বাঙালীদের সেটি প্রতিনিয়ত এদেশের অমুসলিম বাঙালী ও আদিবাসী পাহাড়ী জাতিদের স্মরণ করিয়ে দেয়া হয়। মৌলবাদী শক্তির এই উত্থানে সরকার নিরব। বেশির ভাগ ক্ষেত্রে স্থানীয় সরকার দলীয় নেতাকর্মীরা উক্ত নবী অবমনান আন্দোলনের সামনের সাড়ির নেতৃত্ব দিয়ে থাকে। রাজধানীর সরকার জানে না, পদ্মসেতু-যমুনাসেতু দিয়ে ঢাকা আসতে যে সহজতা তৈরি হলো তার দিয়েই দক্ষিণ-উত্তরের কওমি মাদ্রাসার তালেবর এলেমদের ঢাকা ঘেরাও করতে সময় কম লাগবে। কাজেই দেশের যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থার আমূল পরিবর্তনের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে রাষ্ট্র সমাজের মৌলবাদ নির্মূল না করে তাদের শক্তি বৃদ্ধির চেষ্টা করা হলে নিজেদের কিন্তু কোন লাভ হবে না।
