Main Temple

আম্ব হিন্দু মন্দির: 

শতাব্দীর পর শতাব্দী ধরে লুট করা মন্দিরটি, হিন্দু শুন্য পাকিস্তানে বর্তমানেউ বৈদিক সভ্যতার প্রতিক ধরে রেখেছে। আম্ব মন্দিরটি, স্থানীয়ভাবে আম্ব শরীফ নামে পরিচিত,পাকিস্তানের পাঞ্জাব প্রদেশের কোহের পশ্চিম প্রান্তে সাকেসার পর্বতে একটি পরিত্যক্ত হিন্দু মন্দির কমপ্লেক্সের অংশ আজও বিদ্যমান। মন্দিরটি হিন্দু শাহী সাম্রাজ্যের শাসনামলে ৭ম থেকে ৯ম শতাব্দীতে নির্মিত হয়েছিল। 

এই মন্দিরের ধ্বংসাবশেষ গুলি পাকিস্তানের সূন উপত্যকার সেকেসার পাহাড়ে আম্ব শরিফ গ্রামের কাছে আজও দাড়িয়ে আছে। কাটাস রাজ মন্দির এবং টিলা জোগিয়ান মঠ কমপ্লেক্স সহ সল্ট রেঞ্জের পাহাড়ে হিন্দু মন্দিরের পশ্চিম অংশের ধ্বংসাবশেষ আজও রয়ে গিয়েছে।

আম্ব হিন্দু মন্দির স্থাপত্য

হিন্দু রাজকীয় রাজ্য দ্বারা নির্মিত মন্দিরগুলির “উৎকৃষ্ট” হিসাবে বিবেচিত হয়। মূল মন্দিরটি প্রায় ১৫ থেকে ২০ মিটার লম্বা। মন্দিরটি বর্গাকার মঞ্চের উপর ইটের তৈরি। মন্দিরের বাইরের অংশ কাশ্মীরি শৈলীর মোটিফ দিয়ে সজ্জিত। 

তবে মূল মন্দিরের কাঠামো কাশ্মীরি মন্দির থেকে আলাদা। মূল মন্দিরটি কাছাকাছি কালার মন্দির এবং খাইবার পাখতুনখোয়া প্রদেশের কাফির কোট মন্দিরের অনুরূপ।  প্রায় 75 মিটার পশ্চিমে আরেকটি ছোট মন্দির যা একটি পাথরের কাছে অবস্থিত। মন্দিরটি 7 থেকে 8 মিটার উঁচু এবং পুরো মন্দির কমপ্লেক্সটি একটি দুর্গ দ্বারা বেষ্টিত ছিল।মন্দিরের মূল মন্দিরের দিকে একটি ছোট হলঘরও রয়েছে। এটি একই আকারের আরেকটি মন্দির থেকে কয়েক মিটার দূরে ছিল, যেটি আর নেই।

মন্দির সুরক্ষা

পাকিস্তান অঞ্চলের শেষ হিন্দু রাজা ছিলেন ত্রিলোচনপাল, যিনি ছিলেন হিন্দুশাহী রাজবংশের।ত্রিলোচনপালের পিতার নাম আনন্দপাল এবং আনন্দপালের পিতার নাম রাজা জয়পাল। হিন্দুশাহী রাজবংশ 850-1021 পর্যন্ত স্থায়ী ছিল। জাবুল গান্ধার ও খাইবার গিরিপথে কাবুল তাদের নিয়ন্ত্রণে ছিল।

Amba Mandir architecture

তাদের প্রথম রাজা ছিলেন ভাক্কাদেব। তারা ছিলেন রাজা পোরাসের বংশধর।তিনি তুরস্কের বৌদ্ধ ধর্মে বিশ্বাসী রাজা লাগাতুরমানকে ক্ষমতাচ্যুত করে শাসনভার গ্রহণ করেন। 

859 সাল থেকে ভাক্কাদেব তার শাসন শুরু করেন। লাগাতুরমান 815 সালে আব্বাসীয় খলিফাদের কাছে পরাজিত হয়, তারপর তিনি জীবন বাঁচাতে ইসলাম গ্রহণ করতে বাধ্য হন এবং খলিফাদের বার্ষিক অর্থ প্রদান করে শাসন করতে থাকেন। তুর্কশাহীর শাসন 650-850 সাল পর্যন্ত স্থায়ী হয়েছিল এবং হিন্দুশাহী 850-1021 পর্যন্ত রাজা ছিল।মেহমুদ তাদের রাজত্বের অবসান ঘটান।

হিন্দু রাজকীয় রাজাদের কাবুল, জাবুল, খাইবারের কাছে গান্ধার সমগ্র অঞ্চল ছিল এবং তারা গজনি তুর্কেস্তান পর্যন্ত রাজনৈতিক বিষয়ে হস্তক্ষেপ করত এবং তারা ছিল সমৃদ্ধশালী রাজা। জয়পাল ছিলেন একজন বড় রাজকীয় রাজা যিনি 976 থেকে 2001 সাল পর্যন্ত শাসন করেছিলেন। 

এর সাবক্তগিন আলাপতাগিনের মধ্যে গজনীর বিষয়ে মতভেদ ছিল।997 সালে সুবক্তাগিনের সাথে যুদ্ধে, তার ফলাফল একই ছিল। 997 সালে সুবক্তাগিন মারা গেলে, 1001 সালের যুদ্ধে তার ছেলে মেহমুদের সাথে পরাজয় হন। 

হিন্দুশাহী রাজাদের রাজধানী ছিল পাকিস্তানের খাইবার পাখতুনখোয়া অঞ্চলের হিউন্ড গ্রামে। আজকাল এই গ্রামে খননের কথা বলা হচ্ছে যাতে হিন্দুশাহী রাজবংশ সম্পর্কিত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ আবিষ্কার করা যায়। আজও এই গ্রামের অনেক স্মৃতিসৌধ খারাপ অবস্থায় দাঁড়িয়ে আছে।

ত্রিলোচনপাল 1021 সালে মেহমুদ গজনভির কাছে পরাজিত হন এবং চিরতরে হিন্দুশাহী রাজবংশের অবসান ঘটে। তার রাজ্যে কান্দাহার, কাবুল, পেশোয়ার, লাহোর এবং হিমাচলের কিছু অংশ অন্তর্ভুক্ত ছিল রানী দিদা কাশ্মীর শাসন করতেন। যিনি হিন্দু ছিলেন। মেহমুদ গজনভি দুবার কাশ্মীর আক্রমণ করেন তবে খারাপ আবহাওয়ার কারণে উভয়বারই ব্যর্থ হন, তখন তিনি হিমাচলের কাংড়ায় মাতা "বজরেশ্বরীর" মন্দির লুট করেন।

1008 সালে চাচ নামক স্থানে রাজা "আনন্দ পাল" মেহমুদের কাছে পরাজিত হন। তার পর আর কোনো হিন্দু রাজা কখনই "গজনভির" বিরুদ্ধে যৌথ প্রতিরোধ করতে সক্ষম হননি। পাশের রাজারা এতটাই ভয় পেয়েছিলেন যে তার আক্রমণের নাম শুনেই রাজা তার রাজধানী ছেড়ে চলে যেতেন।

গজনভির  ডাকাতি পন্থায় থানেশ্বর, মথুরা মহাবন, কনৌজ, কালিঞ্জর,  সোমনাথও গুজরাট আক্রমণ করে প্রচুর ধন সম্পদ লুট করে। সোমনাথ মন্দির থেকে প্রধান ফটকের ফটকগুলো সরিয়ে গজনিতে তার দুর্গে স্থাপন করেন। "শিবলিঙ্গকে" চারটি টুকরো করে ভেঙ্গে এক টুকরো মক্কায় পাঠানো হয় এবং বাকি অংশ গজনীতে জমা মসজিদের ধাপে স্থাপন করা হয়। তিন শতাধিক উটের উপর লুটপাটের সামগ্রী বোঝাই করে নিয়ে যায়।

এই সময়ে দুইজন আরবি লেখক বিখ্যাত, একজন আলবেরুনী যিনি লিখেছেন "টিকরে হিন্দ এবং অন্যজন ফারিস্তা" যিনি শাহনামা এই লুটপাটের ইতিহাস লিখেছেন।

Main Temple

Ambo Hindu Temple: 

This temple, looted for centuries, is still a symbol of Vedic civilization in Hindu-free Pakistan.  The Ambo Temple, locally known as Mango Sharif, is part of an abandoned Hindu temple complex in the Sakesar Mountains on the western edge of Koh in the Punjab province of Pakistan.  The temple was built in the 7th to 9th centuries during the reign of the Hindu Shahi Empire.

The ruins of this temple still stand near the village of Amb Sharif in the Sekesar Mountains in the Sun Valley of Pakistan.  Remains of the western part of the Hindu temple in the hills of the Salt Range, including the Katas Raj Temple and the Tila Jogian Monastery Complex, remain today.

It is considered the "best" of the temples built by the Hindu monarchy. The main temple is about 15 to 20 meters long.  The temple is made of bricks on a square platform. The exterior of the temple is decorated with Kashmiri style motifs.

However, the structure of the main temple is different from the Kashmiri temple.The main temple is similar to the nearby Kalar Temple and the Kafir Kot Temple in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.  About 75 meters west is another small temple which is located near a rock.  The temple is 7 to 8 meters high and the whole temple complex is surrounded by a fort. There is also a small hall towards the main temple of the temple. It was a few meters away from another temple of the same size, which is no more.

Temple protection

The last Hindu king of Pakistan was Trilochanpal, who belonged to the Hindu Shahi dynasty. Trilochanpal's father's name was Anandapal and Anandapal's father's name was Raja Jaipal.  The Hindu Shahi dynasty lasted from 850-1021.  Kabul was under their control on the Jabul Gandhar and Khyber Pass.

Their first king was Vakkadev.  They were descendants of King Porus.  He overthrew King Lagaturman, a Buddhist in Turkey, and took over.

Vakkadev started his rule from 859 AD.  Lagaturman was defeated by the Abbasid caliphs in 815, then he was forced to convert to Islam to save his life and continued to rule by paying the caliphs an annual stipend.  The rule of Turkashahi lasted from 650-850 AD and Hindushahi was king from 850-1021 AD. Mahmud put an end to their rule.

The Hindu monarchs had the whole territory of Gandha near Kabul, Jabul, Khyber and they interfered in political affairs as far as Ghazni and Turkestan and they were prosperous kings.  Jaipal was a great royal king who ruled from 976 to 2001.

There was a difference of opinion between Ghazni and Sabkatgin about the battle.  When Subaktagin died in 997, he was defeated along with his son Mehmood in the battle of 1001.

The capital of the Hindu Shahi kings was at the village of Hyund in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region of Pakistan.  Nowadays there is talk of excavations in this village to make important discoveries about the Hindu Shahi dynasty.  Even today many monuments of this village are in bad condition.

Trilochanpal was defeated by Mehmud Ghazanvir in 1021 and the Hindu Shahi dynasty came to an end forever.  Her kingdom included Kandahar, Kabul, Peshawar, Lahore and parts of Himachal. Queen Dida ruled Kashmir.  Who was a Hindu.  Mehmood Ghaznavi invaded Kashmir twice but failed both times due to bad weather, when he looted the temple of Mata "Bajreshwari" in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh.

In 1008, King Ananda Pal was defeated by Mahmud at Chach.  No other Hindu king has been able to put up a united front against "Gajanvir" since then.  The kings on the side were so frightened that the king would leave his capital as soon as he heard the name of his attack.

Thaneshwar, Mathura Mahaban, Kanauj, Kalingar, Somnath also invaded Gujarat and looted a lot of wealth.  Somnath removed the gates of the main gate from the temple and placed them at his fort in Ghazni.  The "Shivling" was broken into four pieces and sent to Mecca and the rest was placed on the steps of the Jama Masjid in Ghazni.  More than three hundred camels were loaded with loot.

At this time two famous Arabic writers, one Alberuni who wrote "Tikre Hind and the other Farista" who wrote the history of this looting in Shahnameh.
