A Hindu shopkeeper named Sajal Biswas (38) was brutally strangled to death by five Muslim terrorists by wrapping a towel around his neck as he did not pay the balance. The incident happened last Wednesday (July 20) night in Ghilachhra Union of Fenchuganj Upazila.

Fenchuganj Thana police have arrested 5 Muslim terrorists involved in this incident. The arrested are- Atiq (25) son of Majammil Ali of East Yudhishtipur (Ghaterbazar) area of ​​Ghilachhar Union of Upazila, Dipu (21) son of Rahmat Ali of the same village, Jubel (17) son of Kamal Mia of Central Yudhishthipur, Shakil (17) son of deceased Dashir Ali of Baralekha village of Moulvibazar district. 19) and Suman Ahmed (22) son of Miadhan Mia.

According to local sources, Sajal Biswas is the son of Dayamoy Biswas of Krishnapur village of Kulaura upazila. He worked as an employee for 20 years in the grocery store of a person named Rishikesh in Ghilachra village of Fenchuganj upazila. Sajal used to sleep in the shop at night. He was also physically challenged. On Wednesday around 12:30 pm, the nearby businessmen and local residents were woken up by the sudden sound of shouting. Later, they found Nishi Babu's shop open and went there to see the dead body of Sajal Biswas lying with a towel wrapped around his neck. After the murder, the killers looted the money from the shop. On receiving the information, the police recovered the body from the spot that night.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Fenchuganj police station. Shafayet Hossain said that the police have already arrested five people from Hakaluki Haor area on suspicion of involvement in the murder of Sajal Biswas. The arrested accused have admitted to the police about their involvement in the incident.
