According to the report, the Hindu population decreased from 8.54 percent to 7.95 percent, the Buddhist population decreased from 0.62 percent to 0.61 percent, the Christian population decreased from 0.31 percent to 0.30 percent and the population of other religions decreased from 0.14 percent. Zero has come down to 12 percent.
It also informed that the Muslim population has increased from 90.39 percent to 91.04 percent.
According to the report, 8 crore 17 lakh 12 thousand 824 males, 8 crore 33 lakh 47 thousand 206 females and 12 thousand 629 transgenders are among the total population of the country.
Out of the total population, 4 crore 4 million people live in the capital. The population growth rate in the capital is 1.94 percent. Apart from this, 3 crore 32 lakh people live in the port city of Chittagong, 2 crore 3 lakh people live in Rajshahi and Barisal division has the lowest population of 91 lakh people in the country.

এতে আরও জানানো হয়েছে যে মুসলিম জনসংখ্যা 90.39 শতাংশ থেকে 91.04 শতাংশে উন্নীত হয়েছে।
প্রতিবেদনে বলা হয়েছে, দেশের মোট জনসংখ্যার মধ্যে ৮ কোটি ১৭ লাখ ১২ হাজার ৮২৪ জন পুরুষ, ৮ কোটি ৩৩ লাখ ৪৭ হাজার ২০৬ জন নারী এবং ১২ হাজার ৬২৯ জন হিজড়া রয়েছে।
মোট জনসংখ্যার মধ্যে রাজধানীতে বাস করে চার কোটি ৪০ লাখ মানুষ। রাজধানীতে জনসংখ্যা বৃদ্ধির হার ১ দশমিক ৯৪ শতাংশ। এ ছাড়া বন্দরনগরী চট্টগ্রামে ৩ কোটি ৩২ লাখ, রাজশাহীতে ২ কোটি ৩২ লাখ এবং বরিশাল বিভাগে দেশের সর্বনিম্ন জনসংখ্যা ৯১ লাখ।
