A person named Nirmal Roy (40) was arrested by Muslim people on the pretext of insulting Prophet Muhammad in Shibganj Bazaar of Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila.
This incident happened in Shibganj market on Wednesday (July 6) afternoon. Later, the police rescued the young man from the crowd, arrested him and took him to the police station. The arrested youth is the son of Naresh Roy of the area. The situation has now been defused and additional police have been deployed. According to the local people, the youth Nirmal Roy was talking to the people in Shibganj market about the Prophet. Meanwhile, the people got angry and started beating Nirmal Roy. Meanwhile, after inspecting the scene, Sadar Police Station OC Kamal Hossain said that additional police have been deployed to control the situation. The young man was arrested and brought to the police station. He urged people not to get excited. Later legal action will be taken subject to investigation.
