4 Muslim teenagers arrested for vandalizing idols in Pirojpur
The idol of Kathuliya Sri Sri Shitala Temple in Durgapur Union of Pirojpur Sadar Upazila has been vandalized. Police have arrested 4 teenagers in this incident. They were arrested on Monday afternoon.
The arrested are - Md. of Lohakathi village of Tona Union near Durgapur. Son of Bahadur Sheikh. Shubo Sheikh (16), Hasan Sheikh (17), son of Emadul Sheikh of Hularhat, son of Dulal Bepari of Patherhat village of Chalpukuria, Kalakhli. Abu Bakr Siddaqui (17) and Ramzan (12) son of Haider Molta of Ghazalia Udayakathi village.
Suman Mitra, religious affairs secretary of Pirojpur Sadar Upazila Puja Celebration Parishad, said that miscreants vandalized the idol of Sri Sri Sheetla temple by throwing bricks and bricks on Sunday. Meanwhile, they broke one of Sheetala Devi's legs. On Monday morning, the miscreants again entered the temple premises and roamed suspiciously. Then the priest and the surrounding people informed the Chairman of the Union Parishad, Noman Mridha. He came and caught them with the help of local people.
Durgapur Union Parishad Chairman Noman Mridha said, I went to the spot after receiving the news. With the help of people, three people were first arrested and later one more from the neighboring village of Udayakathi. All four are juvenile delinquents. They have been handed over to the police.
