দুর্গাপূজাকে কেন্দ্র করে জঙ্গি হামলার ঝুঁকি রয়েছে | There is a risk of terrorist attacks centered around Durga Puja

ঢাকা মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশের (ডিএমপি) কমিশনার মো. শফিকুল ইসলাম জানিয়েছেন, আসন্ন দুর্গাপূজাকে কেন্দ্র করে দুই ধরনের নিরাপত্তা ঝুঁকি রয়েছে। একটি হলো- জঙ্গি হামলা, আরেকটি সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যমে গুজব রটিয়ে সাম্প্রদায়িক অস্থিরতা সৃষ্টি করা।

বৃহস্পতিবার (২৯ সেপ্টেম্বর) বিকেলে রাজধানীর ঢাকেশ্বরী জাতীয় মন্দির পরিদর্শন শেষে এসব কথা বলেন তিনি।

তিনি বলেন, সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যমগুলোতে বিভিন্ন পোস্ট দিয়ে, ভুয়া অ্যাকাউন্ট খুলে সাম্প্রদায়িকতাকে উসকে দেওয়ার একটি প্রবণতা সব সময়ই থাকে। এসব ঝুঁকি মোকাবিলায় আমাদের গোয়েন্দা (ডিবি) পুলিশ কাজ করছে।

ডিএমপি কমিশনার বলেন, গত বছর কুমিল্লার একটি মন্দিরে কোরআন শরিফ রাখা নিয়ে যে ঘটনা ঘটল, ওই ধরনের অপচেষ্টা এ বছরও থাকতে পারে। মাস খানেক আগে থেকে আমরা এসব ঝুঁকি মোকাবিলায় কাজ করছি।

তিনি আরও বলেন, ইতোমধ্যে আমরা জানতে পেরেছি, প্রায় ৫০ জন ছেলে তাদের বাড়িঘর ত্যাগ করেছেন। তারা কোথায় প্রশিক্ষণ নিচ্ছেন, তা নিয়ে আমরা কাজ করছি। আশা করি, ফিল্ড অপারেশনে আসার আগেই তাদের ধরতে পারব।

Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).  Shafiqul Islam said that there are two types of security risks around the upcoming Durga Puja.  One is terrorist attacks, another is creating communal unrest by spreading rumors on social media.

He said these things after visiting Dhakeshwari National Temple in the capital on Thursday (September 29) afternoon.

He said, there is always a tendency to incite communalism through various posts on social media, opening fake accounts.  Our detective (DB) police are working to counter these risks.

The DMP Commissioner said that the incident of keeping Quran Sharif in a temple in Comilla last year, this kind of mischief may happen this year as well.  We have been working on these risks for months.

He also said that we have already come to know that about 50 boys have left their homes.  We are working on where they are training.  Hopefully, I can catch them before they come to field operations.
