মেঘে ঢাকা তারা সিনেমা কি আদৌ সঠিক ইতিহাস তুলে ধরেছে | Megh Dhaka Tara Movie has presented the correct history at all
সর্বকালের সেরা একশো ভারতীয় সিনেমার তালিকায় সত্যজিতের ‘পথের পাঁচালী’ প্রথম ও দ্বিতীয় স্থানে ঋত্বিক ঘটকের ‘মেঘে ঢাকা তারা’ স্থান পেয়েছে। মাস্টারপিস এই দুটি সিনেমা বিশ্ব সিনেমা সমালোচকদেরও প্রিয়স্থানে জায়গা পেয়েছে আগেই।
আমি সিনেমা সমালোচক নই। সিনেমা দেখতে ভালোবাসি। কিন্তু এই লেখা সে বিষয়েও নয়। বিষয়টা হচ্ছে মেঘে ঢাকা তারা’য় নীতা নামের পূর্ববঙ্গ থেকে শরণার্থী হিসেবে ভারতের আশ্রয় নেয়া একটি পরিবারের বড় মেয়ে যে কঠিন জীবন সংগ্রামের শিকার হয়। তার মত পূর্ববঙ্গ ফেরত বাঙালি হিন্দুদের সর্বশান্ত হয়ে পশ্চিমবঙ্গে চলে আসাটার পিছনে যে রাজনীতি ও ধর্ম বড় ভূমিকা রেখেছিলো ‘মেঘে ঢাকা তারা’ কি সে গল্প বলেছে?
মেঘে ঢাকা তারা একটি দলিল দেশভাগের পর বাঙালি হিন্দু কতখানি আ্ত্মবলির শিকার হয়েছে। কিন্তু এই সিনেমায় নেই মুসলিম লীগের তথা পূর্ববঙ্গের মুসলমানদের প্রতি এতটুকু তীর্যক দৃষ্টি। পূর্ববঙ্গ থেকে ধাওয়া খেয়ে পালিয়ে আসা বাঙালরা স্থানীয় ‘ঘটিদের’ সঙ্গে একটি সামাজিক লড়াইয়ে শামিল হয়। পুরোনো জমিদার বাগানবাড়ি, সরকারী খাস জমি পূর্ববঙ্গের শরণার্থীরা ছিনিয়ে নিয়ে দখল করে নেয়। এই সোচ্চার হওয়াটা কেন তারা পূর্ববঙ্গের মুসলিম লীগার মুসলমানদের সঙ্গে রুখে দিয়ে নিজ দেশে দেখাতে পারল না?
সিনেমায় আমরা দেখি নীতা দেশী বাঙালদের সঙ্গে বাঙাল ভাষায় কখা বলছে আবার স্থানীয়দের সঙ্গে কোলকাতার উচ্চারণে কথা বলছে। পূর্ববঙ্গ থেকে আসা এইসব মানুষদের স্বাভাবিকভাবেই আপদ বলে একসময় মনে হতে থাকে যখন শরণার্থীদের চাপে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের স্বাভাবিক জীবনে বিঘ্ন হতে থাকে।
জিনিসপত্রের দাম বেড়ে যায়, স্থানীয় আবাসনের উপর চাপ বাড়ে, চাকরির বাজারে হাহাকার উঠে। ছিমছিমা সুন্দর শহর হঠাতই বহু মানুষের পদচারণায় নোংরা হতে থাকে। বাংলাদেশে রোহিঙ্গাদের যেমন চোখে দেখা হয় বাঙালদের তেমনভাবেই টিটকারি করা হতো। দেশভাগের প্রভাব এতখানি ছিলো যে পূর্ববঙ্গ থেকে শরণার্থী হয়ে আসা লেখক শিল্পিদের বিষয়বস্তুই হয়ে উঠে দেশভাগ। ঋত্বিক ঘটকের স্ত্রী বলেছিলেন, ঋত্বিক দেশভাগের ট্রমা থেকে আর বের হয়ে আসতে পারেননি। এই যে চলে আসতে হলো, মুসলিম লীগের গুন্ডাদের রেপ করার হুমকিতে, খুন করার চেষ্টায়, এই যে গোটা পূর্ববঙ্গের মুসলমানদের মুখে মুখে হিন্দুরা চলে যাবে ওপারে, পাকিস্তান হবে- এইসব কেন তাড়া করেনি? করেছে কিন্তু বলেননি। লিখেননি। দেখাননি। তাতে কোন বিশেষ ধর্ম সম্প্রদায়ের উপর ভিলেন আরোপ হয়ে যায়। ফলে ইতিহাসের নির্মম সত্য এখন আড়াল করা সম্ভব হচ্ছে। জয়া চ্যাটার্জির বই দেখিয়ে বলা হচ্ছে দেশভাগের জন্য হিন্দুরাই দায়ী!
দেশভাগের জন্য হিন্দু নেতারা বেশি দায়ী নাকি মুসলিম নেতারা বেশি দায়ী সে তর্ক দিয়ে দেশভাগের দায় কারোর উপর চাপানো সহজ হলেও দেশভাগের সুফল পেয়েছে পূর্ববঙ্গের মুসলমানরা। দেশভাগে তাদের কিছুই হারাতে হয়নি।
- পূর্ববঙ্গে কোন হিন্দুর হাতে মুসলমানের কল্লা কি গেছে?

- তাহলে জয়া চ্যাটার্জির বই দেখিয়ে বাঙালি হিন্দুদের উপর দেশভাগের দায় চাপানো বুদ্ধিজীবী পাকিস্তান হওয়ার সুফল পান কি করে?
দেশভাগের পক্ষে গণভোটের এই দেশের মুসলমানরা একশভাগ হ্যাঁ বলেছিলো। এখানে সরোয়ার্দি-শরত বসুর অখন্ড বাংলার জন্য দৌড়াদৌড়িকে দেখানোর কোন দাম নেই যেখানে জনগণ চাচ্ছে হিন্দুদের দেশ নয়, মুসলমানদের নিজেদের দেশ হবে এটা।
পূর্ববঙ্গ ফেরত নীতার পরিবারের মত কোটি কোটি পরিবার যে ভাঙ্গনের মুখে পড়ল তার দায় কি ‘মুসলমানদের নিজস্ব দেশ’ যারা চেয়েছিলো প্রতিবেশী সেই মুসলমানদের নেই?
পূর্ববঙ্গ ফেরত শিল্প সাহিত্যে সেকথা স্পষ্ট করে কেউ বললেন না। উল্লেখ করলেন না। অথচ এই ঘটনা যদি পূর্ববঙ্গের মুসলমানদের ভোগ করতে হতো তাহলে তাদের কবিতা গল্প উপন্যাস নাটকের একমাত্র সুর হতো হিন্দুদের জন্য আমরা নিজেদের দেশ হারিয়েছি! বাংলাদেশের এমন লেখক নেই যারা দেশভাগের জন্য নিজেদের উপর সমস্ত দায় হিন্দুদের উপর দিয়ে বলে হিন্দুরা কি রকম ছোঁয়াছুঁয়ি মেনে মুসলমানদের নিজেদের ঘরে ঢুকতে দিতো না। যেন এসব কারণেই দেশভাগ হয়েছে যার দায় হিন্দুদের। সেই তাদের জন্য যদি দেশ ছাড়তে হতো তাহলে ‘মুসলিম লীগ’ আজো এখানে এক নম্বর দল থাকত। তাদের প্রকাশ্য জাতীয়তাবাদ হতো মুসলিম জাতীয়তাবাদ। ওদিকে পূর্ববঙ্গ ফেরত বুদ্ধিজীবী লেখক শিল্পীদের ৯৯ ভাগই হলেন কমিউনিস্ট পার্টির লোক! সাধারণ জনগণ হলেন বামফ্রন্টের ভোটার! মেঘে ঢাকা তারা’র নীতাদের কোথায় ঠাই মিলত যদি অখন্ড বাংলা থেকে তাদের পালাতে হতো? নীতাদের পরিবার দেশ ছাড়ে ৪৭ সালে। পাকিস্তানে থেকে যাওয়া হিন্দুদের বড় আরেকটি অংশ ম্যাসাকারের মুখে দেশ ছাড়ে ৬৪-৬৫ সালে। যদি বাংলা সরোয়ার্দি-শরত বসুর অখন্ড বাংলা হতো আর সেখানে ধাওয়া খেতে হতো তখন কোথায় আশ্রয় নিতো নীতার পরিবার? ইতিহাসের এই অমিমাংসিত প্রশ্নের হাত থেকে সবাইকে বাঁচিয়ে দিয়েছে ইতিহাস স্বয়ং।

Bengalis fleeing from East Bengal engaged in a social struggle with the local 'Ghtis'. The old zamindar plantations, government Khas lands were snatched and occupied by the refugees from East Bengal. Why couldn't they show this voice in their own country by standing with the Muslims of East Bengal Muslim League?
In the movie, we see Neeta saying Kakha in Bengali with the desi Bengalis and speaking with the locals in a Kolkata accent. These people from East Bengal naturally started to feel like a nuisance when the pressure of refugees started disrupting the normal life of West Bengal. Commodity prices rise, pressure on local housing increases, job market groans. The beautiful city of Chimchima suddenly becomes dirty due to the footfall of many people. Bengalis were taunted in the same way Rohingyas were seen in Bangladesh. The effect of partition was so much that partition became the theme of writers and artists who became refugees from East Bengal.

No one clearly said that in the art literature of East Bengal. did not mention But if this incident had to be suffered by the Muslims of East Bengal, then their poems, stories, novels and dramas would have been the only tone for the Hindus. We have lost our own country! There are no writers in Bangladesh who put all the responsibility on the Hindus for the division of the country and say how Hindus did not allow Muslims to enter their homes. It is as if the partition of the country is due to these reasons, which is the responsibility of Hindus.
If they had to leave the country for that, then 'Muslim League' would have been the number one party here today. Their overt nationalism was Muslim nationalism. On the other hand, 99 percent of the intellectual writers and artists who returned to East Bengal are members of the Communist Party! The general public is the voters of the left front! Where would the leaders of the cloud-covered star meet if they had to flee from Bengal? Nita's family left the country in 1947. Another large section of Hindus who remained in Pakistan left the country in the face of massacres in 64-65. If Bengal Sarwardi-Sharat Basu was a single Bengal and had to chase there then where would Nita's family take shelter? History itself has saved everyone from this unsolved question of history.
